Our Town Leeds is thrilled to present the Final Fridays Speaker Series!
Join us monthly for fascinating presentations on what makes this a cool little town. We'll hear from the head of the state's Search & Rescue operations, about the wildlife who live here, about the beef cattle that define Leeds. Future topics will touch on history, forestry, Androscoggin Lake, and more.
We'll spend about an hour on the topic and Q&A, followed by light refreshments and a chance to get to know your neighbors.
If you have an idea for a topic or are interested in being a speaker, please reach out to hello@ourtownleeds.org.
We recently partnered with the Leeds Community Church to put on an Open Mic Night, and it was a blast!
Neighbors shared music, poetry, stories and a lot of great baked goods. Stay tuned for our next one!
Our library committee hosted a weekly story hour this summer! Geared towards younger children, we entertained about 20 kids, including families new to town.
Guest readers included Travis Adams, Assistant Chief of the Leeds Fire Department, Jennifer Wiegman, guidance counselor at Turner Elementary, Deborah Emery, illustrator of The Wildlife Tree and beekeeper Harry Wiegman.
We're looking for feedback on future story hours - whether you attended this summer or are looking forward to a future event, we'd love to hear from you! Click here.
