Our Town Leeds is thrilled to present the Final Fridays Speaker Series!
Join us monthly for fascinating presentations on what makes this a cool little town. During our next three events we'll hear about Leeds history, forestry, and the Leeds Fire Department!
Discussions kick off at 6pm at the Leeds Town Office. We'll spend about an hour on the topic and Q&A, followed by light refreshments and a chance to get to know your neighbors.
Our next speakers will be:
April 24 - Laura Juraska, Leeds Historical Society
The Abenaki and Early Settlers of Leeds
May 29 - Julie Davenport, Maine Forest Service
Challenges for forests and tools to help you meet them
June 26 - Travis Adams, Leeds Fire Chief
History of the Leeds Fire Department
We'll be taking off July & August for summer break, but if you have an idea for a future topic or are interested in being a speaker, please reach out to hello@ourtownleeds.org.
Mark your calendar and join us for our third annual Book, Plant & Bake Sale! We’ll have lots of baked goodies, great books at great prices, and plants & seedlings to add to your garden. This is also a great opportunity to come and meet your neighbors!
starting seeds now and have extra? Consider starting a few for Our Town Leeds!
If you have books to donate that are in good shape, we’d love them! (A great rule of thumb for donating books: if you wouldn’t purchase it today in its current state, it should be recycled. Please no textbooks.)
We so appreciate your donations and your support - we’ll post closer to the event date on how to get any donated goods to us!
